Mecum Auctions, the largest car auction company with over 20,000 auction lots auctioned annually, has expanded into Guitars in 2019, auctioning a variety of rare vintage guitars, celebrity owned, player grade used and special models at their live auction events.

High profile guitar auctions have begun to emerge in greater numbers in recent years.

2019 saw several high profile guitar auctions, most notably The David Gilmore of Pink Floyd auction which netted over $21 million. Graham Nash of CSNY auctioned some guitar rare gems in 2019, including Duane Allman’s ‘62 Gibson SG for around $600,000.

Mike Domino of Mecum has created Mecum’s Guitar Search by Domino to acquire guitars for auction for players and collectors at all levels.

In addition to the highest end vintage and celebrity owned guitars, Guitar Search by Domino is also offering rare custom built guitars and many player grade guitars, often with no reserve.
