1929 National Tricone Resonator
1929 National Tricone Resonator
Pleased to offer for sale this piece of guitar history. In 1928, the National Guitar Company released the tri-cone Resonator guitar. This 1929 is an example of an early Style 1 with a round neck design.
Made of German Silver (nickel plated brass) with three sounds cones inside the body to increase volume. Square necks can only be played as a slide guitar whereas Round necks like this model can be played Spanish style as well as slide with a metal nut that raises the action. This nut is included along with an old slide and metal finger picks and original case.
It shows an ancient headstock repair that looks many decades old and does not affect playability. The neck is in great shape and since it is a round neck it has the wood not a metal neck.
This National is truly something and it belonged to a gentleman who played on the radio in the 1930s. Call to discuss with Rick and we are always open to reasonable offers and will ship.
