We are proud to present this superb example, 1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard Gold Top.
With less than 200 GT's made in 58 it is without question a very special and exceptionally rare instrument.
Is there really a discernable difference between a 58 GT and a Les Paul Burst? I mean aside from a couple coats of beautiful bouillon paint, not really...
All of the same materials were used, made by the same exact hands with the same processes. I'll go into a little more detail here, there were 8 Bursts produced for every 1 58 GT. Taking this all into consideration 58 GT's still somehow present an amazing value to their sunburst counterparts -50% or greater the savings, at least for now.
This 1958 Standard is a rock solid 8.5 showing modest but honest wear on the top and a moderate patch of rash on the back. Each and every component appears to be original to this instrument, as it sits at 100% correct.
It features sealed PAF's with perfect stickers that read 7.5 N and a monstrous 9.25 in the B. The weight is a very balanced 9 lbs. that lends to a powerful and throaty mid focused tone that is synonymous with the Gibson Les Paul.
The neck is a perfect medium shape with a soft V measuring .85 at the 1st and .96 at the 12th frets respectively. The lush Brazilian fretboard is very clean with no divits and boasts its original frets which are also in excellent condition. This Les Paul plays exceptionally well.
This GT blacklights perfectly and is free from repair. The instrument had grovers on it at one time showing only slight opening of the tuner shafts, no extra screw holes, professionally done (see photos). It is back to stock with the appropriate bushings. The single lined pat applied tuners function perfectly.
This 58 is accompanied by a VG+ 5 latch lifton case.
This is a tremendous opportunity to score a super low numbers, 100% complete Gibson Les Paul Standard.
