1984 Gibson ES 335 Dot Reissue Custom Shop in Antique Natural with Shaw PAFs - SOLD
Just in and available, this one owner all original 1984 Gibson ES 335 Dot Reissue was one of the earliest guitars made in the Gibson Custom Shop. Starting in 1982, these guitars were Gibson’s first real attempt at recreating the glory of the ES 335 “burst killer” back to original specifications, right down to the dot markers on the fretboard.
Enhancing this effort was the limited use of the highly sought after Tim Shaw PAF pickups. These pickups were made to more closely emulate the original Patent Applied For (PAF) pickups used by Gibson from 1958 on and are very rich and warm sounding.
This guitar features a beautiful maple top with just the right amount of flame in the wood, in my opinion.
The back is very clean with a nice maple flame.
By 1993, Gibson Custom Shop would become a stand alone operation within Gibson.
The pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this guitar, with it’s beautiful maple top and antique natural finish. A rare ‘80s guitar and an early Gibson Custom Shop makes this guitar a great one to add to your collection.
